A Sibos AI-payments panel leaves builders with a permissions question

Chainlink shared a discussion with Microsoft and Parallax Ventures. Its subject is a prompt for product design, not evidence of a joint service launch.

Chainlink shared a Sibos panel on October 24 featuring Microsoft, Chainlink and Parallax Ventures discussing AI, payments and finance. The original post establishes that conversation and its participants. It does not announce a joint payment product, customer rollout or production deployment.

Our engineering reading is to put authorization ahead of automation. If software can initiate a payment, the product needs an intelligible answer to who allowed the action and how far that authority extends. A conversational request and permission to execute it are different pieces of evidence.

That creates a useful division of work for banks and fintech teams. Business policy defines eligible actions and exceptions; the execution path must preserve enough context to review what happened. Speed or connectivity cannot substitute for a boundary the operator can explain when a customer disputes an action.

For Panama and LATAM teams, the practical next step is a bounded use case with explicit approval and recovery paths. The panel is relevant as an enterprise discussion of that problem. It should not be used to claim that the participants have solved it, endorsed a particular local product or made a new service available.
