Aztec announced Tierra, its Alpha V6 release, with security hardening and fixes for identified vulnerabilities, including a critical issue in the previous version. The project describes formal verification of core cryptographic components and an AI-powered security testing harness. These are specific engineering measures, rather than a guarantee that undiscovered vulnerabilities cannot exist.

Aztec reports client-side proofs of about 1 second on a native device and Ethereum-to-Aztec message delivery as low as 12 seconds. The latter is a lower bound in the announcement, not a promise for every deposit. The release also highlights applications launching or preparing deployments across private payments, trading and AI.

For teams handling sensitive information, the useful distinction is where execution and proof generation happen. Aztec describes private functions running on the user’s device and public functions on the network. Builders should evaluate that boundary alongside the risks of an Alpha release before choosing what information or value to expose.
