Blast reaches its announced withdrawal-interface deadline
The L2 wind-down makes a usable exit path part of the product.

Blast’s October 2 announcement set October 26, 2026 as the final date for withdrawals through its normal interface. It said operating costs exceeded L2 revenue and that assets would remain withdrawable afterward through bridge contracts on Ethereum L1.
Checked today, the official bridge displays a wind-down notice and an approximately one-day withdrawal period. Its documentation distinguishes initiating, proving and claiming a withdrawal, with different handling for smart contract wallets and USDB. These instructions do not confirm that every user has completed an exit.
For builders, shutdown planning belongs alongside onboarding: explain waiting periods, identify contract-wallet dependencies and preserve usable instructions before an interface disappears. Contract availability alone does not make an exit operationally simple. The digest’s remaining bridge-balance estimate was not independently verified and is excluded.
