Circle extends Gateway’s unified balances to EURC and cirBTC

Circle says EURC and cirBTC now join USDC in Gateway. Separate asset balances and chain-specific availability remain central to the integration.

Circle announced that Gateway now supports EURC and cirBTC alongside USDC. Its release describes one unified balance per asset across supported networks, extending an existing integration model without turning different currencies or token types into a single interchangeable balance.

The announcement lists cirBTC on Arc and Ethereum, and EURC on Arc, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Solana and World Chain. Circle’s subsecond access claim applies after deposit finalization; it is not a promise that an initial deposit becomes final immediately. Timing remains subject to network conditions.

The product problem is inventory fragmentation. A wallet or payment business may need the same asset on several networks, tying up funds while it anticipates customer demand. A shared balance model can simplify that operational work, but teams still need to check routes, withdrawal behavior and failure handling.

For agentic or usage-based services, Circle also describes offchain payment aggregation followed by onchain batch settlement. Removing a gas charge from each individual payment does not remove batch-settlement costs. The release expands the supported toolkit; it does not establish universal availability or guarantee a business’s savings.
