Cross River designs tokenized lending from origination
A completed proof of concept on Arbitrum One leads toward a production target in early 2027.

Cross River and Offchain are building tokenization into the bank’s lending platform, using Arbitrum One and ZeroDev wallet infrastructure. The bank says a proof of concept is complete and production deployment is targeted for early 2027. The announcement therefore describes a development programme, not a fully launched lending service.
The intended change starts when an asset is originated. Funding, ownership transfers and servicing can share a record throughout the loan lifecycle, instead of adding tokenization after traditional origination. Cross River remains the regulated bank and lender of record, with underwriting, risk management and compliance standards retained.
For regional lenders, the practical lesson is to map the whole asset lifecycle before selecting a blockchain integration. Shared records may reduce reconciliation work, but wallet infrastructure alone does not establish investor eligibility or legal transfer rights. Those operating boundaries remain part of the product design and must be evaluated before a comparable service is offered.
