ENSv2 reaches Ethereum mainnet

The naming protocol introduces a new architecture while existing .eth names continue to work.

ENS Labs says ENSv2 is live on Ethereum mainnet, alongside a new ENS App and Explorer. The release rebuilds the naming protocol around an architecture intended to support individuals, communities and organizations managing names.

Existing .eth names continue to work without another registration. Owners who want the new capabilities can choose to upgrade through the ENS App; the launch does not mean every existing name has already migrated.

For product teams, names are useful only where applications resolve and display them reliably. The practical work is to check integration behavior, permissions and migration paths rather than assume that an architecture change automatically updates every experience.
