Glamsterdam turns fixed gas assumptions into an audit task
Ethereum’s compatibility checklist covers contracts and offchain services as proposed gas rules change.

Ethereum’s Glamsterdam gas-invariants repository asks auditors to review assumptions affected by EIP-8037 and EIP-8038. It covers fixed gas budgets, storage accounting and offchain components, rather than treating compatibility as a contract-only problem.
Barnabé Monnot’s November 7 explanation distinguishes changing parameters from changing pricing mechanisms. The repository says its measurements follow a pinned specification and may change; this is preparation for proposed rules, not a declaration that the upgrade has deployed.
For builders, the practical task is to inventory relayers, signed gas limits and failure-handling paths alongside contract code. Test an affected path against the proposed rules and separate demonstrated failures from inferred exposure before deciding whether configuration, code or migration work is needed.
