Hoodi’s Glamsterdam delay puts compatibility ahead of the calendar
Ethereum postponed the testnet upgrade while developers investigate contract compatibility. Operators need revised client guidance.

The Ethereum Foundation has withdrawn Hoodi’s October 26 Glamsterdam activation while developers examine EIP-8037 interactions with existing contracts. No replacement date is set. The notice concerns the testnet and requires no action from mainnet users.
For infrastructure teams, the practical task is configuration control. Check execution, consensus and validator tooling against current client instructions; an earlier release table does not establish that a client incorporates the postponement.
Application teams should separate compatibility testing from launch planning. A postponed rehearsal is a reason to revisit assumptions about contract behavior and test coverage, rather than carry an obsolete date into customer commitments.
For Panama and LATAM operators, the useful distinction is between a testnet scheduling change and a mainnet incident. Keeping that distinction clear helps teams assign the right work without creating unnecessary alarm.
