Mural announced a $15 million Series A led by Tether on October 20, taking total funding to $28 million. The company brings accounts, payments, identity and compliance into one system. Its announcement describes account limits, approved counterparties, larger-payment approvals and audit trails as controls for people and agents acting on their behalf.

For a fintech, the practical challenge is keeping the account's state consistent across banking partners, blockchain rails and internal records. Moving money is only the visible action. A usable product must also show who owns the balance, which operations are permitted and how a support team investigates a mismatch.

Agent access makes those boundaries more important. A useful evaluation would separate the authority to read an account, propose a payment and execute it. Approvals should remain understandable when a workflow spans providers, and revoking an agent should not depend on a customer discovering every integration it touched.

For LATAM builders, the funding is a reason to examine infrastructure options, not evidence of universal country coverage. Check the specific local rails, currencies, contracting entity and reconciliation behavior needed for a proposed product. The amount raised measures the financing round; it does not measure customer deposits, payment capacity or a promised investment return.
