A pilot announced by Canton connected HSBC Tokenized Deposits with Franklin Templeton tokenized money market funds for Uber. Tradeweb supplied the trading workflow and Fireblocks the wallet infrastructure. The announcement describes purchases through delivery-versus-payment settlement and the ability to liquidate part of the holdings over a weekend.

The distinction between the assets matters: bank deposit liabilities and fund shares have different legal and risk characteristics. The release describes proceeds settling to verified corporate bank accounts. It does not establish an unrestricted retail service or guaranteed investment returns.

The operational question is how long a treasury can keep eligible cash invested while retaining access for payment obligations outside market hours. Builders evaluating similar infrastructure should examine redemption availability, permissions and the final bank-account leg together. A successful demonstration offers evidence of a coordinated workflow; it does not by itself prove broad commercial availability or the economics for every corporate treasury.
